About Him
Friends say that I am witty, intelligent and a stable and good friend. You would have to judge for yourself though! I can hold my own in any kind of conversation, even when the latest women's fashion is being discussed :-). I'm informed, but not a know-it-all. I'm funny, but not lighthearted. I'm serious at times, but not a stuck-up sourpuss. I take my work seriously, but life with a pinch of salt - otherwise I would have cut my wrists in style with the Moulinex electric knife long ago! I'm a realistic optimist, but have been taken for a few too many rides (unfortunately not free) during my lifetime, to be falling for just everything any more! I actually do like myself, yes,... but not that much that I'm full of myself. I'm always interested in other people and their lives, their well-being and trials and tribulations. I am contented with life. I can still stop and look at and appreciate a beautiful sunset. Everything does not have to be over the top. The biggest "Wow"'s still lies within the smallest of things. I am looking for somebody who'll be able to put a smile on my face every day. She must have a good sense of humour, - be able to make and take a joke. Somebody who is comfortable and contented with herself and who can also joke about her own shortcomings. Somebody who can also see the silver lining around the dark clouds when they appear. Somebody who understands that life is not a fairytale, but that it is worth living in full anyway. Somebody who is realistic enough to realise that everything is not always perfect, and should we always only be looking out for that perfect situation, that "perfvect" person, that life might just pass us by during the waiting period, and then it might be too late before we realise that it's all over! Somebody who has a kind and soft heart and who can see the beauty in every person. Somebody who has a soft spot for animals, children and old people alike. Somebody who cares about herself and also about other people. Somebody with integrity and loyalty. Somebody who posesses a presence. Somebody with an opinion about matters and situations, who does not always just agrees with her man, but to whom it is also not important to always be "right". Somebody who knows what she wants from a soulmate and life in general and who is willing to take a chance to find it. Somebody who is just herself. No big pretence, no big ego, no snobbishness, no unrealistic expectations and someone who has no negative baggage left. Someone who understands that at our age, we all do have 'baggage',.. but that it's not necessarily a bad situation to be in. Somebody who is still passionate about life in a whole, despite some set-backs in the past. Someone who has come to learn that the end-result is not the most important aspect, but the journey that takes one there.
