About Her
I am warm, energetic, intelligent, curious, resourceful, gentle and assertive.
My interests are diverse. Reading: Current reads - Dominion by Tom Holland, and Ravenna, Capital of Empire, Crucible of Europe. Some old, favourite movies: A Fish Called Wanda, Cabaret, My Fair Lady. My favourite audio podcasts: The Rest is History; The Rest is Politics; The Ancients. Favourite radio station: BBC Radio 4. Music: Anything from chamber music to Rod Stewart. I love dancing, the old fashioned kind, where your partner holds you and you spin around the dance floor. I would love to attend the Thursday concerts at the City Hall more often. Most recent holidays - Pre-Covid three week trip to Portugal. A 16 day trip to Italy in May 2022. Also in 2022, a ten day visit to Istanbul followed by trip to Laguna Beach, California, to attend a reunion of the Senior class of the school I attended as an exchange student in 1969/70. Have no plans to go anywhere out of the country this year! Travel is, however, a passion that I would like to indulge more often. I hope to return to Russia sometime. Have visited twice in the past, but given the invasion of Ukraine this is off the radar while Putin is in charge. Locally, the Cedarberg beckons and the African bush appeals hugely.
I love being physically active and it is really important to me to spend time in nature. I belong to a hiking group and walk on the mountain as often as time permits.
I think Cape Town is the most amazing city, not only for its beauty but because of the rich cultural life made possible by the people who live here, and who give freely of their knowledge through the variety of societies that abound.
I value beauty and quality, in all their manifestations.
I have a circle of close friends and enjoy entertaining, but I also need a regular dose of solitude. My job is fulfilling and I am involved in community activities.

My ideal partner would be a good communicator, socially adept, physically active, have fulfilling hobbies and/or a fulfilling career, and would share many of the interests I have listed in "About me". Yet, he would also have interests of his own, and he would value the time and space to pursue them. He would be reliable and stable, yet adventurous and open to the spur of the moment, and ready to follow his instincts when an intriguing situation beckons.
If he is not into opera, classical music, or other of the cultural interests I have listed, this is not a problem. I can attend these while he is playing golf, watching rugby,.... whatever.
